This clinical training is designed to provide mental health professionals with practical tools for assessing and treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) in adults using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
Participants will learn how to conceptualize OCD symptoms, identify compulsions and avoidance patterns, develop exposure hierarchies, and create effective ERP interventions tailored to individual client needs.
This workshop emphasizes practical application and case-based learning to help clinicians confidently implement ERP strategies within outpatient counseling settings.
At the completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Identify core symptoms and maintaining factors associated with OCD.
- Differentiate obsessions, compulsions, reassurance seeking, and avoidance behaviors.
- Explain the theoretical foundations of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
- Develop individualized OCD case conceptualizations.
- Construct effective exposure hierarchies for adult clients with OCD.
- Implement response prevention strategies in clinical practice.
- Address common barriers and challenges encountered during ERP treatment.
- Apply ethical and culturally sensitive considerations when treating OCD.
